American Water & Air is a family owned business and was incorporated in July 2002 by Dirk and Sarah Homeier in Springfield, Illinois. The Homeiers created this company to fulfill a growing demand and need in central Illinois for high quality water filtration. American Water & Air began with a passion that the Homeiers have to meet a global need to be a financial support for mission work. In addition to the financial support, a secondary goal was to provide a water filtration resource for missionaries to be able to drink their tap water and to use their filtration as a means of reaching their surrounding neighborhoods to share the Gospel message.

In its humble beginning, American Water & Air operated out of a two bedroom apartment that was owned by Dirk’s father. The spare bedroom served as the office and phone room employing two appointment setters.
